Cowboy Jesse is a picture book geared for ages 2-7. A young boy, Jesse, rides west across his backyard on a stick horse as a spaceship lands nearby. When one squiggly, wriggly alien flashes his fangs, Jesse hightails it to safety—or so he thinks. It’s a counting book from one to ten and back again (ten to one). The story is also about the value of friendship. Ages 2-5 are the formative years in which children develop their first friends. Their time together is all about having fun. So, with that in mind, these characters enjoy mishaps and calamities, but most of all, have fun.
