Normandi Ellis

In 1991 Normandi Ellis won the Bumbershoot Literary Award for a first collection of fiction for her book Sorrowful Mysteries and Other Stories. Her other literary works Going West, Fresh Fleshed Sisters and Voice Forms received additional accolades, including awards for literary innovation from the Colorado Humanities Council, and literary fellowships from the Kentucky Arts Council and Kentucky Foundation for Women. Her stories explore the thin boundaries between the visible world and the realms of spirit and imagination. Drawing on her deep love of mythology and the transformative, she creates characters who navigate wonder, longing, and revelation. She lives in Danville, Kentucky.
