The image for the Kentucky Book Festival 2025 was created by Kentucky visual artist and writer, K. Nicole Wilson. Here is a little more about her…

K. Nicole Wilson dwells in art, possibility, and Lexington, KY. Originally from Maysville, she’s Limestone filtered, over 100 proof, and often rye. K. Nicole completed most of her undergraduate work at the University of Kentucky, BA Secondary English Education, and later earned an MFA in poetry in Cardinal country. Wilson has been published in various journals and anthologies, and participates annually in Lexington Poetry Month.

She is honored to have been asked to make art for the 2025 Kentucky Book Festival. The creative community in the Commonwealth is a beacon, and her family is a buoy of love keeping her above water.

K. Nicole has two official chapbooks: This Temple (2016, Finishing Line) and Elephants in the Casket (2021, Workhorse). Perhaps one day she’ll piece together a proper full-length collection before the abyss swallows us for apocalyptic appetizers. Until then, though the pandemic continues to hinder healthy progress, efficiency, and in person readings, K. Nicole will happily paint and create for commissions, cover art, and because she can’t breathe otherwise.
