What will Kentucky Book Festival visitors find on your table?
On my table, I will have copies of RICKY & OTHER LOVE STORIES, copies of my first book BIG BAD (if Joseph-Beth allows me to also feature a previous title), RICKY and BIG BAD postcards, bookmarks, and stickers, as well as some fun “love story” merchandise like wearable buttons and conversation candy hearts.
Whom do you invite to stop by? Who will benefit from reading your book?
I welcome anyone to my table, but my work will especially appeal to those who enjoy literary fiction, short stories, Southern gothic, dark comedy, magic realism, literary horror, and literary romance.
Could you please tell us something curious about you and/or your book?
I love juxtaposition! I think the most successful books combine elements that are contradictory, because life itself is a constant combination of light and dark, serious and silly, bizarre and boring. My stories use juxtaposition to create tension and (hopefully) sustain a reader’s attention.
Is this your first time participating in Kentucky Book Festival? If yes – what are you looking forward to the most? If you’ve participated before – what was your favorite experience at the Festival?
This will be my second time at the Festival. I loved meeting readers, as well as fellow authors. The comraderie at the Festival was wonderful.
