What will Kentucky Book Festival visitors find on your table?
Uncertain Mythologies (Shadelandhouse Modern Press, 2024) is in many ways a sequel to my first book of poems Broken Frequencies, a book of poems (Shadelandhouse Modern Press, 2019). These poems are concerned primarily with the effects of time passing, loss, and the beauty we often overlook in the experience of the present moment.
Whom do you invite to stop by? Who will benefit from reading your book?
My hope is anyone in search of meaning or significance in the random sequence of events that is our contemporary lives might be interested in my work.
Could you please tell us something curious about you and/or your book?
One of the things I am most pleased with concerning Uncertain Mythologies is my publisher, Virginia Underwood at Shadelandhouse Modern Press, was gracious enough to accept one of my original oil paintings for the cover art–“The Road” (oil on canvas 22″ x 28″). The result, for me, was a fully formed work of art with both a visual and linguistic aesthetic involved that I find quite beautiful.
Is this your first time participating in Kentucky Book Festival? If yes – what are you looking forward to the most? If you’ve participated before – what was your favorite experience at the Festival?
I was a participant in the 2019 Kentucky Book Festival with the release of Broken Frequencies, a book of poems (Shadelandhouse Modern Press, 2019). I am looking forward to seeing so many friends again after so much time has passed. It was a wonderful experience.
