What will Kentucky Book Festival visitors find on your table?
Readers will find my most recent title Wicked Little Things, which is a spooky and queer Young Adult novel about a recently out teenager who discovers he is a witch and joins a coven to hunt down a serial killer.
Whom do you invite to stop by? Who will benefit from reading your book?
Any reader of young adult, be they teen or teen-at-heart, or fans of things like Sabrina the Teenage Witch and AHS: Coven. Anyone feeling a little powerless or in need of a chosen family might especially connect with Dane’s journey.
Could you please tell us something curious about you and/or your book?
As the book is set in the Bluegrass region, readers may get a kick out of a scene in the book set on Nicholasville Road, and may notice some hints about the book’s primary fictional setting that give away the location of its real-life inspiration.
Is this your first time participating in Kentucky Book Festival? If yes – what are you looking forward to the most? If you’ve participated before – what was your favorite experience at the Festival?
This is my first time! I’m most excited about connecting with readers in-person and interacting with fellow authors in a new way.
Justin Arnold is a storyteller, occasional comedian, and junk food connoisseur. Wicked Little Things is the story of the recently outed 16-year-old Dane Craven who is forced to return to his unbearably small hometown of Jasper Hollow.
