A collection of poems written by a teacher who served in public schools for twenty-five years, Mama Tried (Broadstone Books) takes the reader on a journey through her experiences as an educator and as a mother. Written with love and devotion to her students, the reader will meet students in Ms. B’s classroom, laugh at the chaos that ensues in a busy school, and feel heartbroken over the losses all American teachers suffer. Through it all, you will cheer Ms. B’s efforts and fall in love with the characters in this book. Mama Tried is Beck’s fourth collection of poems.
