The Evolution of the Gospelettes

What will Kentucky Book Festival visitors find on your table?
Besides my novel, I’ll have bookmarks, mini art prints, and possibly some other book-related goodies to give away to book buyers, while supplies last.

Whom do you invite to stop by? Who will benefit from reading your book?
I hope that people who enjoy literary fiction; Kentucky, southern, and rural/small-town fiction; family sagas and sister stories; and American roots music, especially southern gospel, will like my book.

Could you please tell us something curious about you and/or your book?
I decided when I was 8 years old that I wanted to be a writer. Fifty years later I’m publishing my first book! It’s been a long and winding road. I actually started this novel about 30 years ago, but many obligations, combined with lack of confidence and perfectionism, slowed me down. I’m glad I stuck with it, though, and I hope my story encourages the dreamers out there.

Is this your first time participating in Kentucky Book Festival? If yes – what are you looking forward to the most? If you’ve participated before – what was your favorite experience at the Festival?
I’ve attended Kentucky Book Festival as a reader many times, but this is my first time participating as an author. I look forward to meeting and talking to readers. People who love books are MY people.
