Jerry, Let Me See the Moon

What will Kentucky Book Festival visitors find on your table?

In my new middle grade novel Jerry Let Me See the Moon, Jerry discovers that the town he moved to is a sanctuary for were-creatures, humans who turn into animals when the moon is full. It is a fast pacedfunny characters and hundreds of illustrations.

My table will also feature some of my early reader graphic novels, I’m Ogre It, A Giant Mess and Kraken Me Up, as well as my picture book Boo Stew.

Whom do you invite to stop by? Who will benefit from reading your book?

Jerry Let Me See the Moon is fun for all ages but especially middle grade readers. My other books are perfect for early readers and anyone who likes monsters and hilarious mayhem.

Could you please tell us something curious about you and/or your book?

Although I’ve been writing children’s book for many years, this book took me the longest to finish. The idea came from a werewolf game that I used to play with my older brother. I originally wrote the story aschapter book and then a full novel. I almost made it a graphic novel instead. Even though this story has had many forms I’m very proud of its final version.

Is this your first time participating in Kentucky Book Festival? If yes – what are you looking forward to the most? If you’ve participated before – what was your favorite experience at the Festival?

This is my first appearance at the Kentucky Book Festival. I am looking forward to sharing my stories with readers, librarians and teachers.
