I Could Name God In Twelve Ways

What will Kentucky Book Festival visitors find on your table?

Visitors will find copies of my new book of essays, I Could Name God in Twelve Ways, out in September fromUniversity Press of Kentucky. There will also be a flier or postcard about the book—and there will be candyor other treats. AND there will be a free Fortune Teller Miracle Fish for those who stop by. I also hope tohave copies of my previous book, too—a novel called Wanting Radiance.

Whom do you invite to stop by? Who will benefit from reading your book?

At festivals, I love speaking to just about anyone who stops by the table where I’m sitting. I love getting into conversations about my book—or conversations about being in Kentucky, my much-missed home state. Ofthose who stop by, I imagine that women readers might be most interested, as the book speaks torelationships, to the body, to finding love after loss. The book might also speak to those who traveling hard—I mean with a backpack, a thumb, your own two feet.

Could you please tell us something curious about you and/or your book?

Some of the essays take place in countries as various as Nepal, India, Greece, and Thailand.

Is this your first time participating in Kentucky Book Festival? If yes – what are you looking forward to themost? If you’ve participated before – what was your favorite experience at the Festival?

Have been fortunate to be at several Kentucky Book Festivals. I love meeting people who attend the festival, but I so love seeing familiar faces, my fellow Kentucky writers. I am already so eager for the reception thenight before the festival. There are many friends I want to talk with and give big hugs to!!
