Growing up in Western Kentucky, “Ronnie” Adams was one of the state’s top-ranked high school basketball players from 1972-75, dreaming of playing in the NBA, until a coal mining accident left him a quadriplegic at the age of 19. With basketball no longer an option, he enrolled at Murray State University, where he earned a degree in Business Management. He later earned a JD/MBA at Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. In “Coal Mine to Courtroom,” Adams shares his dramatic story of survival, love, loss, law school, and his journey of faith, driven by a desperate search for a miracle. Along the way, he encountered Hollywood psychics, TV preachers, tough professors, a dishonest lawyer, and a few good friends. “Coal Mine to Courtroom” is painfully honest, often revealing uncomfortable details, always with humor and sensitivity. It is an uplifting, compelling story that will entertain and inspire readers from all walks of life, regardless of their personal beliefs.
