What will Kentucky Book Festival visitors find on your table?
They’ll find a fantastic mix of books at my table. I’ll have the historical graphic novel The Great Explorer of Mammoth Cave: A Graphic Novel Biography of Stephen Bishop, the latest book from WHO HQ titled Who Is Shaun White, Kaiju Unleashed Is: An Illustrated Guide to the World of Strange Beasts, which is a comprehensive guide to your favorite Godzilla movies and the history of Kaiju cinema, and the latest books in The Gamer hi/lo reader series.
Whom do you invite to stop by? Who will benefit from reading your book?
Kids of all ages should stop by because the books I’ll have available are a gateway to reading and adventure.
Could you please tell us something curious about you and/or your book?
Since I have many books on my table, I’ll discuss The Great Explorer of Mammoth Cave. It was an honor to write a graphic novel about important Kentucky and Black History. Stephen Bishop is an integral part of our state’s history, and I’m glad I can share it with everyone.
If you’ve participated before – what was your favorite experience at the Festival?
There was this moment when a child ran over to the table and pointed at some of The Gamer books I had on display. After explaining the series to their parents, they bought one of the books. A half-hour later, the parents returned and bought the rest of The Gamer titles that day because it was the first time their child was excited about reading. It made my day.
